EVWAY
 Lombardia, Italy

Evway is a platform or App that supports EV-Drivers with the intent to map all the charging stations in Italy and in Europe, with information related to where people can charge electronic vehicles according to their needs thanks to filters.
EV-Driver can activate and pay the charge on over 100.000 plugs in the whole Europe with just the evway App or KeyFob.
The App provides two different maps: one dedicated to cars and one for e-bikes and e-scooters. It also maps the points of interest near the stations: for examples, facilities that have a charging station are indicated with special markers for their product catogory, so that can be easily identified on the map.

Evway turns your charging stop into a positive experience that brings to the discovery of the territory: the evway map in fact shows you the points of interest near the charging station you are using – museums, hotels, tourist attractions, restaurants and so on.

Analysis of the Innovation

This type of innovation is incremental because charging stations for electronic vehicles already exist. The innovation consists of the creation of the app that maps all charging points. Furthemore, it is also an opportunity to discover and visit the surrounding area. So, it is a way to promote the territory.
It is new for Ev-drivers and it's an organizational innovation.

Background

The innovators are Franco Barbieri and Carolina Solcia that realized this start-up in 2018. In a interview the founders said: "if travelling with an electric car means stopping at the service stations to recharge the battery, these stops can become the pretext to rediscover our territory."
In this way you can transform a stop into a pleasure trip, visiting the artistic beauties, relaxing at the spa and enjoying all the opportunities that the trip can offer. "Our purpose– explain the founders– is to involve all stakeholders in the territory."
Finally, this innovation encourages people to contribute to a sustainable use of means of transport.
