Österreich Werbung and Vienna Tourist Board invite you to a city tour of New York and Vienna with stylish sunglasses, the latest technology including 360-degree sound, GPS function and gesture sensors: The Bose frames not only protect you from the sun, but also provide information about Vienna's sights. The glasses are an advanced audio guide which - coupled with the new #RelatedToAustria app on the smartphone - makes the city trip an interactive experience via loudspeakers on the temples of the glasses.
In New York, the AR-Glasses are supposed to inspire for a vacation in Austria already in the inspiration phase. There, #RelatedToAustria guides the guests to different locations with a connection to Vienna, for example to a Viennese coffee house in the middle of the Big Apple. Ludwig van Beethoven gives the city guide either in German or English and makes a lively connection to Austria.
It wouldn't be Vienna if the tour didn't end with a visit to a coffee house. Cooperation partner Palais Hansen Kempinski invites you to round off the tour with a coffee on the house (APA-OTS Tourismuspresse, 2020).

Design, culture and technology got combined - the project is a wonderful example of cross-industry cooperation in tourism and of how the Guest Journey can be enriched with innovations from digitalisation.
