The idea is incremental, because they only used a small business change in the intercity bus systems, meaning that they made it super affordable. The basic idea is that if customers book their seats far enough, they can get the quite cheap offers. This makes the company quite attractive. It is a new idea for the companies, because booking tickets in advance and advertising these super low prices were not that common in the beginning of tourism. It is a structure innovation, because it changes the business model of the company by prioritising the advertising of pre-bookings.

It is a regular innovation, because it is nothing radical in the market, and it is just promoting smaller innovations to be implemented in the market.

What can you find about the background of the innovation?

The innovation was implemented into the market in 2003. The company is owned by Stagecoach Group. The starting price of a long distance ride is §1, which catch the eyes of most people. Their first rides were from London to Oxford, and since than they expended their company globally. They also introduced the Megatrain services later on, introducing super cheap train rides.
