For whom is it new?

It is new for everybody, because drinking café in café houses has been a tradition for hundreds of years and the innovators were thinking of how could they make it more advertising for guests who are looking for a new experience during their coffee breaks. 

How new is it?

It is a quite new idea, especially since keeping wild animals have been possible, and not just in zoos. The Zoo Café in Budapest opened in 2014 and since then it has been a huge success.

This café works like any other café house besides the fact that here guests are able to choose different animals to play with during their stay. Also guests able to book a separate room for themselves so they can enjoy a private experience with the animals. It takes a lot of hygiene controlling for the workers, because they need to satisfy the different needs of the animals and maintain a hygienic environment so they are able to sell beverages. They have more than 24 different animals, and their aim is to give people the experience of having an animal in their home, since it is not common in the rural areas. Also, all the animals are saved from shelters and people are able to adopt the animals or at least to learn about how they should keep them. Their business model is quite successful, because it attracts a lot of tourists and there are always going to be animals which should be rescued from shelters.
